An Afterword: LOST (The End is Just the Beginning)
LOST has finally come to an end and it’s hard to believe the finale aired over 2 months ago. Now that the dust has settled and we’ve had time to really reflect back on what was given to us, I’ve decided to start up a blog chronicling my thoughts on the show. Traditionally, blogs based on TV shows only have a life span while the show is still on air. But I decided back in Season 1 that I would take a different approach, and wait for the show to end before I tried tackling it. As a pre-face, I will say that I loved the ending of LOST. And on the whole, I really thought it was an incredible show. That’s not to say that it was perfect. Like the characters of Oceanic 815, the show had flaws. So don’t expect this to be some fan boi blog that thinks the show was perfect. I’m well aware of the criticisms of the show, and I actually welcome debate and discussing the criticisms of the show. I welcome intelligent discussion, as that is what brought to love LOST in the first place.
In the end, I’m not really sure how successful this blog will be. But I think it’s a testament to the show, that even after it has ended, there is this yearning/need to talk and think about it. And my hope is that, people will comment or at least read what I have to say regarding this show. Even if you agree or disagree with me. After all, all of us losties went on the same journey together. Even if we didn’t end up on the same side, at least we made to the finish line together.
